Dr Ishrat Jahan talks about some misconceptions about baby feeding and newborn's stomach capacity

The very first day, a newborn's stomach size is like a marble ball and it needs only 5-7 ml food (as much as 1 tea spoon). At the day 3, baby's stomach size becomes like a ping pong ball and it requires only 22-27 ml food. At the day 10, baby's stomach size increases to an egg. Normally, parents get confused that whether their children get the sufficient nutrition from the little amount of colostrum and breast-milk. But the parents and family members have to have patience and realizes that an infant's stomach size is like this marble, little breast-milk is enough for them and NO additional formula is necessary.
