Dreamcast Connecting to "The Dreamcast Junkyard" - VIA Dial-Up on DREAMPI

A short video of my Dreamcast connected to a Raspberry Pi. Set up: 1 NSTC Dreamcast - only mod is the Pink LED 1 Raspberry Pi 2 - in a case w/ PiGlow hat (off) 1 Standard (cheap) phone cable 1 Cheap Fax USB Modem (bought on ebay for $10 1 Homemade Phone Line Voltage Inducer (power from 9v ac adapter) 1 SD Card with DreamPi image preloaded 1 Ethernet connection to Pi So I've followed Kazade's guide to using my Raspberry Pi 2 to get online with my beloved Dreamcast. The first major hurdle is getting together the components to create a "phone line voltage inducer..." From my understanding this is required because the Dreamcast needs power over the phone line to initate the call connection. I had my friend solder together: 1 standard phone line, ($4) 1 330 ohms resistor (56c for 5) 1 1uF capacitor (50c for 2) 1 9volt ac adapter (phone charger) Heat shrink wrap This was a huge challenge. Again, my friend was gracious enough to put this together after I obtained the parts, and even though it looks rough it functions perfectly. He said it was a nightmare with the cheap cord, that the wires would break and that he would do it again, but in a totally different way. I am super thankful I didn't have to get electrocuted getting the cord together. After assembling the phone line, everything else is pretty much plug and play. I had to burn a PlanetWeb 3.0 disc and hard coded the ISP settings following this guide. After this I set up the Raspberry Pi with Kazade's recent DreamPi 1.1 to LISTEN// commands: (login with pi, password raspberry) cd /dreampi sudo ./dreampi.sy start sudo ./dreampi.sy restart sudo ./dreampi.sy --no-daemon
