EastEnders rape horror as abuser Gray drags Chantelle upstairs to 'force her' into getting pregnant

EASTENDERS fans were left horrified as abuser Gray Atkins dragged his wife Chantelle upstairs to "force her" into getting pregnant.  Chantelle has been keeping the abuse she's suffered at the hands at Gray a secret from her family.  Gray promised to go to therapy after injuring Chantelle during a particularly violent episode.  However, as his behaviour took a turn for the worse, Chantelle went behind his back and cancelled the venue where they planned to renew their vows.  This backfired as Gray instead surprised his wife with a surprise ceremony in their home - surrounded by their family.  As her mum Karen Taylor prepared to officiate the ceremony, dad Mitch Baker knew something was wrong.  He said: "I know I wasn't there for your wedding, but I'm here now. I'm here for you. Because, I'm sorry baby but you don't look happy."  She shrugs it off, blaming her it on her fears for missing brother Keanu.  During the ceremony, it looks like Chantelle is going to call things off as she repeats: "I can't..."  Before eventually getting the vows out of her mouth - but this isn't the end of her woes.  After the family have left, a furious Gray growls: "What do I have to do? Go to therapy? Book a holiday? Sort out our fantastic renewal ceremony and still you shoot me down. Why do you keep hurting me?  "You're warm with me with your family but the minute they leave you close up on me and I can't do anything right.  "Anything I say, you take the wrong way. You stood there and you vowed to do things for me too.  "You're twisting things"  He then jumps to his feet, causing Chantelle to jump.  "We agreed to try for another baby," he says.  Then the abuser grabs Chantelle by the wrist - causing her to wail in pain - and drags her up the stairs.  The final shot shows a devastated Chantelle at breaking point.  Fans were horrified by the scenes, with one person saying: "#EastEnders that makes me want to throw up as there are people who think gray's behaviour is justified and acceptable"  Another added: "Why does it feel like the holiday is a lie? So Grey can keep her locked in for a week and beat her. #Eastenders"  A third said: "Gray, you can't force Chantelle to have another baby without her consent. That's rape!! #EastEnders"
