Echidnas

These echidnas were filmed at the Platypus House at Beauty Point in the north of Tasmania. They look a lot like a porcupine and have very sharp quills on them. When scared they curl up in a ball with the quills pointing out. We saw a lot of them in the wild waddling along the sides of the road in Tasmania. They like eating bugs and ants and are eating a mash of insects and worms. I've never seen their long skinny tongues before.
