Overview We revisit the remnant radiation of the Big Bang that pervades the sky as the cosmic microwave background in the light of the recent Planck telescope mapping. The most precise measurements of its properties to date have confirmed our understanding of cosmological models that attempt to account for the properties of the present-day Universe and its contents.
