Eiffel Tower goes dark honoring Sri Lanka attacks victims

The Eiffel Tower switched off its lights at midnight in Paris, commemorating people killed in attacks on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka. People, as well as those of Sri Lankan origin, attended a night vigil in the Trocadero area of the city, lighting candles for the victims, with Buddhi Athauda, an ambassador of Sri Lanka in France also present at the event. At least 290 people were killed in a series of blasts in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, updated casualty figures confirm. The government plans to hold a security council meeting to assess the threat level in the country.
