La Colonie Volvox started as a band in 2002 as a mixture of avant-garde and improvised jazz fusion, and evolving into more narrative sonic concepts referring to sacred chants and political viewpoints. The most recent musical exploration of La Colonie Volvox cultivates the acoustic sound, producing a new expression that drifts from the melo-poetic motifs of the European legacy to the American blues culture and the Sufi music, intertwined with the Macedonian vocal and instrumental tradition.
