They auditioned on the June 22, 2014 episode of America's Got Talent 9. The judges probably thought it was going to be technically good but boring. But Emil and Dariel surprised everybody by playing some Jimi Hendrix on the cello. The judges came away impressed by this performance. Howard thought the choice of Jimi Hendrix was a great surprise. Mel B said she hasn't seen anything like that and thanked them for auditioning. Howie says they made the cello cool. He can see people now playing the air cello. All 4 judges said YES and sent Emil and Dariel to the next round.
