Enrico Caruso (born Errico Caruso; February 25, 1873 August 2, 1921). This is a perfect example of a tenor with completely developed and coordinated registers who also knew how to cover correctly. Listen to how "fine" the EE and EH vowels are, but also how in the end the OH vowels go towards more OO as he approaches the passaggio to properly cover. He doesn't lose any core or brilliance to the sound. It is also one of the very few recordings where Caruso does a diminuendo.
