EU may freeze Ben Ali assets

The EU has announced it could freeze the assets of President Zinedine al-Abidine Ben Ali and his wife who have fled to Saudi Arabia. Investigations are underway into how the Ben Ali family accumulated such vast wealth. Switzerland has already announced plans to freeze his assets and France, Tunisia's former colonial power, will block suspicious financial transactions.
