To whom it may concern, This is an opening recreation of one of my favorite annual European shows of all time, The Eurovision Song Contest. I decided to recreate the opening from the 1971 edition of the festival which was celebrated for the first time in Ireland. Here are all the things you should know about this recreation. IMAGINATION: What if CBS aired the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971? (If only CBS went all the way to Geneva and talked to the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) to allow them to air the festival in the United States). That’s how I imagined it and so here it is made exactly the way I imagined it. GRAPHIC PROCESS: I added the CBS color presentation ident as a beginner to this video, then recreated the Eurovision logos starting with a fanmade logo containing the CBS logo, and then decided to use the fanmade RTÉ logo from 1981 to add the touch. Then, I added some parts of the opening from the 1981 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest and joined them with some parts of the original opening of the 1971 edition. SOUND EFFECT PROCESS: First, I added the film static on my original colored and filmed version of this recreation, and then saved the Videotape buzzing for when I processed it by videotape. VIDEO FORMAT PROCESS: I first processed it as a 3mm film and added saturation and brightness, then secondly processed it as a videotape and then stretch it a little as always, and finally decided to make it a kinescoped copy, so before I published this, I added the slate effect to make it kinescopic (or was it Noir?). ANNOUNCEMENT: I will publish the color version of this recreation, so stay tuned. WARNING: The Eurovision Song Contest (“Concours Eurovision de la Chanson” in French) belongs to the European Broadcasting Union and has only aired in the U.S. once (that was last year), but NEVER on CBS. No Copyright Infringement is Intended. - Edwyn Sanchez
