Evolution of the Gay Pro Wrestler (Past, Present, Future)

To be clear: what I say about wrestlers and their characters are purely based on my own thoughts and analysis, and I understand that wrestlers act out gimmicks and storylines. What I am saying has nothing to do with who they are as people in real life. Gay characters in pro wrestling have either been portrayed as hated cheating villains who humiliate straight wrestlers so the audience gains more sympathy for the hero, or as oddballs providing comedic relief meant to be widely mocked. In this video, I explore the history of gay wrestlers and gay gimmicks, and share my thoughts about what an openly gay wrestler should be like in today's society.
