For the Zoella Book Club 2017, Zoe Sugg has invited four of her author friends to join in with the fun and share their book recommendations with us too. The first of Zoe’s friends to make a recommendation is Jennifer Niven, who appeared in the very first Zoella Book Club with her raw and emotional novel All the Bright Places. Jennifer has picked a book that will have us all ugly crying by the end of it (thanks Jennifer!) in Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt. Orbiting Jupiter is narrated by 12 year old Jack, whose family has just taken in 14 year old Joseph as a foster child. Joseph is damaged from his abusive upbringing and time spent in prison, but now all he wants is to be reunited with his daughter, who he’s never met. As Jack and Joseph set out into the cold winter in search for Joseph’s daughter, author Gary D. Schmidt unravels a powerful and original story of friendship and loyalty that packs an emotional punch.
