We briefly met Frankie Browne (Ciaran Owens) in https://youtu.be/E4IfLMWzf64 under lighter circumstances. Unfortunately the boy has acquired a gambling habit and accepts the offer of money from the local moneylender / loan shark, Mr. Billy, unaware that the shark has a grudge against his mother. Trouble catches up with Frankie, Mr. Billy's sidekick drags him along the street by his ear, he now owes £10 (Irish pounds / punts) but is given time to pay, along with a punch in the stomach as a warning. Now desperate, Frankie breaks into the gas meter at home, he is disturbed by his older brother, Mark (Niall O'Shea), and a fight ensues. This is quickly stopped by the return of "mammy" (Anjelica Huston), a long-suffering widowed mother of seven, her son's problem is just another burden to bear. This is an edit from the Dublin located and highly recommended film, "Agnes Browne", a very Irish movie except for the casting of Londoner Ray Winstone in the role of Mr. Billy - he has the menace but not necessarily the accent; his sidekick, Micko, is played by Gavin Kelty.
