Far Cry 3 - Top 7 Best Easter Eggs

Far Cry 3 - 7 Best Easter Eggs - Far Cry 3 is full of cunning nods to other games, and here are seven of our favourites. Here's the list: SEASICK MERCENARY Often when liberating outposts you'll come across drunken mercenaries stumbling about the place with a bottle in hand, but one in particular seems to have taken partying hard to a whole new level. Head to coordinates X: 805 Y: 640 then dive down in the sea, where you'll find a worse for wear soldier calling Huey down the big white telephone. BIOSHOCK & PORTAL NODS While climbing through the rocket silo to escape the complex you enter an area that looks a lot like an Aperture Science location, where Jason quips "You know. I could use a portal right now." In another area you have to restore power to a lift, and when you hit the button Jason says "Would you kindly activate" in an Irish accent - an obvious reference to the mind control phrase from BioShock. THE CALL OF DUTY The character of ex-CIA operative Willis Huntley provides several references to the Call of Duty series during your encounters with him. Sporting aviator shades and a goatee beard his appearance is very similar to Black Ops' Jason Hudson, who was also a CIA agent. After you unlock the south island, you have a telephone conversation with Willis who informs you "This Russia operation has blown wide open. I'm joining Task Force 141 flying out tonight." In Modern Warfare 2 Task Force 141 is a multination spec ops force sent to track down Vladimir Makarov, the Ultranationalist behind the Russian invasion of the USA. THE ONE WHO KNOCKS A number of outposts have memory cards to collect from their safe houses once liberated, which contain drug recipes and other information about the local illicit trade. Memory card 16 found on the south island references a raid on a Meth super-lab in Mexico, giving intel for mass manufacturing the product to "recapture some of the markets lost to the product coming out of New Mexico." This is no doubt a reference to the high quality Meth being produced by Walter and Jesse in the TV series Breaking Bad. ON THE NAUGHTY LIST Down in Willis Huntley's bunker under Badtown you can see what looks like a large boiler tank in the corner of the room. Get close to it and you can read the warning label on the side, which says "Christmas has been cancelled. Apparently, you told Santa you've been nice this year. He has died from laughing."Guess that means no presents for the island inhabitants come December. Another amusing warning label can be found on any of the jet ski vehicles, by zooming in on the area just below the handlebars. The label reads "Playing too much Video Game may lead to aggressive behavior. Handle with care. Herp derp." Something tells us they're not taking this seriously. BUCK STOPS HERE While working with Willis Huntley he will phone you at some point and send you after a hit man named Buck, to which Jason replies in a Southern accent "So his name is Buck, and he likes to f..." before the call cuts out. This is a reference to Buck, the male nurse who abuses The Bride while she is comatose in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 1. JUST (BE)CAUSE In some of the mercenary camp areas you'll find pallets of white drug packages stacked up. Take a closer look at them and you'll see they're stamped with a scorpion logo, which resembles the one used heavily in Just Cause 2. This symbol is also used by Mexican cartels when smuggling drugs, but with a similar tropical island setting and free roaming ability in both games this could be more than just coincidence.
