The minister of state for gender and culture, Peace Mutuuzo has revealed that there are still some emerging challenges hindering the total elimination of female genital mutilation. The obstacles include constant cultural beliefs supported by some political figures. The revelation came as she addressed the media ahead of the International day for zero tolerance against female genital mutilation. However, she strongly warns those still engaged the harmful practice to watch out for negative consequences.
