FFIV - Lowest Level Challenge: Golbez

First of all, yes, I screwed up. Only Yang was supposed to survive this one, so that he could take all the EXP himself, but I didn't realize that until it was too late. However, it seems that I already screwed up this challenge at the Dark Elf, because according to the battle plan, I was supposed to get much less EXP from him. In other words, this isn't a true Lowest Level Challenge anymore, but what the hell. It doesn't make a huge difference. This battle would have been a piece of cake if you started with a fully healed party, but you don't. You start with Cecil at 50 HP and Rydia at 195. Rydia's return is, of course, one of the most classic moments in Final Fantasy. In order to get the party back on their feet, you need luck with Golbez's first two attacks. Bio must hit Rydia and the next attack must hit Cecil. Any other combination is obliteration and you have to redo the annoying Cal/Brina battle. Once the party is back on their feet, the rest of the battle is easy. Golbez only has 3000 HP, so it doesn't take very long to kill him. It would have been a little trickier to have only Yang survive, but that's a story for another day. I'll most likely redo the challenge one day and do everything right.
