FFXI - Fiat Lux Solo

Update: Managed to get the Nocturnus Mail and the Nightfall, plus a ton of capes and necklaces. Did 8/10 runs (died twice) Bastok currently has access to the Fiat Lux battlefield on Asura which is a rare thing to see these days. I honestly thought I didn't stand a chance against the past Shadow Lord as I died on the way to the Throne Room. I went in with a strong evasion set, subbing nin for shadows to see how it went. After a while I relaxed a bit and switched to using my TP set as his accuracy was pretty low and on the occasion when his TP moves got off they were fairly weak. The key to this battle I believe is stunning every TP move he does, especially the move that spawns shadow copies of himself. If he does manage to spawn them I just tried to keep shadows up, use my evasion set and have Fan Dance to fall back on. He readies his TP moves very quickly so you need to be on alert to stun as soon as you see it in the log, no matter what it is. This is my 3rd attempt and I think luck does play a small part in how long the battle will be. I didn't see Doom Arc in this fight but that was just luck, and I haven't been able to stun that move so a stack or two of holy waters is essential. Be cautious and focus, and you should be fine. Il be trying to do this for the rest of the week, no luck with the Nocturnus Helm/Mail yet though. The hardest part funnily enough is getting to the battlefield. Opening the doors in Castle Zvahl Keep without being spotted is a real challenge, often aggroing and linking 4 beastmen.
