FFXIV 3.0 0682 Free Company Airship Guide

In this episode, I explain how Free Company Airships are crafted, deployed and upgraded. A free company is able to build an airship in its own free company workshop. I explain how to unlock the workshop here: http://youtu.be/x0GSiEVw9PA. When you want to build an airship, you need to craft four components: the hull, the rig, the aft castle and the forecastle. Each component has three phases of required materials. When you finish a phase you need a light party of crafters in the workshop partied together before it progresses. When you progress a phase you have the chance of producing "Good Progress" or "Excellent Progress". These buffs reduce the number of materials in the next phase but do not affect the finished product. There is no such thing as a High-Quality airship so there is no requirement to hand in High-Quality materials. After you have the four components crafted, you can take them to the Flight Control Panel along with a Flight Token and Ceruleum Petrol Tanks, which can be bought from the Resident Caretaker in each housing area for Free Company credits. When an airship returns from a voyage it will bring back random materials including materia but also items like Balsa Wood Scrap, Balsa Wood Lumber, Synthetic Fiber and Bamboo Weave. These items are used to buy more advanced crafting recipes for better airships. Initially, you start with a Bronco-Type, then you can purchase an Invincible Type, then an Enterprise type and so on. We are yet to discover what comes next. The more an airship ranks up, the more it can be upgraded, the longer voyages it can go for and the more rare materials it brings back too. Eventually, we will be able to have more airships and fly to unreachable areas of the map using our free company airship in future patches.
