"Wave propagation algorithms in two dimensions, adaptive refinement and well-balancing" Part 3: Setting up the SWE in higher dimensions. Well-balanced schemes: in steady-state, the bathymetry source term should balance the remaining terms on the left hand side; but oscillations may occur because truncation errors do not cancel "nicely". Adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) as used in GeoClaw.
