I had just received my invite to the closed beta for the Lego MMO and so I installed it and recorded my first 40 minutes with the game. It wasn't what I expected. I was thinking more traditional MMORPG game with smashing and building Lego made objects. After the first play through it feels more like an ARPG MMO played at a slower pace and instead of joining a game and teaming with certain players in that game, everyone is in the game and you come across them randomly and click click on the bad guys together. This was just my first impression. Collecting Mini-Figures and easily switching between them on the fly was great. I plan on playing a fair amount of this game over the summer and diving deeper into the systems to see what is offered. So far so good. **Update** After playing through the first area I have to say that this may be my favorite new game. The gameplay constantly encourages you to continously switch characters while playing. Each character has their own individual health bar so the three characters you can equip at one time make up your health collectively. All the characters have different skill sets so choosing which 3 you want to use at any given time is like a character build only you can keep switching your character build throughout the game. The combat is challenging without being annoying. The different areas you can travel to are fantastic... from pirates to space to castle kingdoms and so on. The graphics are great. They have created an atmosphere where finding others to run around with feels great because it reduces the challenge but does not reduce the loot. So far I can not wait to play more in open beta. The F2P system is also great. Everything can be earned through in game diamonds if you want to grind it out. But if you want to pay a la cart or monthly or yearly you can.
