This is my second attempt at songwriting - one of 3 of my originals (c) on The Maritime Crew's 2009 CD, for the Mike McPhee book, both titled "Catlins Bound". "Eliza McPhee" , built by William McPhee and launched in 1871, was a 64ft gaff-rigged ketch that successfully plied her trade on New Zealand's stormy southern coast. Recorded at East Coat Folk Club, Auckland, NZ in 2009. Vocal assistance from (L to R) Bob Large, Lew Black and Paul Howarth. Verse 4 should start "At Riverton pier on Wednesday evening.." . Aah, the pressures of live performance! Enjoy.
