Ebadi and her defence team STORYLINE Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, leading a four-member legal team representing mother of a slain Iranian-Canadian photojournalist, threatened on Sunday to take the murder of Zahra Kazemi's case to international organisations if Iran's judiciary fails to uphold justice. Ebadi said during a press conference that she wished Iran's judiciary could be "independent and efficient". She added, "but if it's not provided, there are international organisations (to do it)", but she didn't elaborate. She added that she would "carry on with this case to find the real truth, even if it will cost my own life". After Saturday's hearings, Iran's hard-line judiciary on Sunday abruptly concluded the trial of a secret agent charged with murdering Zahra Kazemi, prompting Ebadi and her defence team to describe the proceedings as "unacceptable" and walk out in protest. Speaking to journalists outside the court, and sided by Zahra's mother Ezzat Kazemi, Ebadi said "We left the court to show our protest. We do not accept the court and we do not recognise its authority". To add to the strain, Canadian and European diplomats and the media were barred access to the court on Sunday, after having attended Saturday's hearing.
