France - Highlights Of Paris Fashion Shows

T/I: 10:54:58 Some of fashion's biggest names have been displaying their new ready-to-wear collections on the catwalks in Paris. On Sunday (15/10), British designer John Galliano attracted huge crowds to his show at the Theatre des Champs Elysees. Galliano, who takes over as creative head at the House of Givenchy in January, put on a dramatic and theatrical show, entitled "Ecole de Dance" (school of dance). His eccentric designs, which included balletic costumes of rich silk over white netting, were a far cry from the Givenchy collection shown on Monday (16/10). Givenchy stuck to his classic look. Designers Nino Cerruti and Narcisso Rodriguez presented a collection of pure simplicity in plain colours with discreet outlines.
