Frank Serpico, 79, a former New York City policeman said he is eyeing a seat on the five-member town board of Stuyvesant in Columbia County (Serpico pictured left in 1971 during the Knapp Commission hearings on police corruption and right in 2011). The former detective (portrayed by Al Pacino, inset, in the film) calls the town of approximately 2,220 people a place where 'if the ticks don't get you, the politics will.' He has lived in the area since the early 1980s.
