Freethought Blogs: Why I Still Post Comments There Despite the Abuse

Another 'drama' video. Sorry for that, if you don't like it or have no interest the 'back' button is located towards the top left corner of your browser. This is a video made whilst waiting for my Pot Noodle to soften where I attempt to explain why i post on FtB Unfortunately, I manage to forget that for the first 7 minutes and have to restart recording mid-Pot Noodle! Some reference material: Firstly I ask you to consider the way in which debate was conducted on my recent video on Rebecca Watson's evo psych lecture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaxZlZXlIOs&lc and to contrast that, notably the treatment of the (welcome) dissenting contributions of 'Sofiarune', with the treatment meted out on FtB, a place PZ Myers asserts is a considerable step up in terms of a venue for discussion over YT. I ask you whether I would have been able to get my arguments across and critiqued on the basis of those arguments had I done the same over at FtB (on the 'offending blogs', as i say in the video it is wrong of me or anyone else to put all the bloggers in the same basket). The first of those links I have compiled my responses (along with Stephanie's), including my final remark that she never allowed through (despite insincerely telling me i had one last comment, making me look an even bigger wanker - well done there Steph) here: http://noelplum99.blogspot.co.uk/ The second of those links, I draw your attention to the nastiness displayed by LeftSidePositive, something Mrs Zvan clearly had no issue with because, unlike myself, she allows those she agrees with on her comments section far more leeway than those she disagrees with. There are some serious dead heads posting there, it has to be said. Still, my contribution there aside, have a look at how any dissenting voice is treated and I ask you to compare that to the discussion on my video based on the same hot topic of Rebecca Watson and her talk and decide for yourself which was the healthier environment for discourse.
