From The Horse's Mouth - The case against the Westbury Bypas

In the summer of 2007 the Government agreed with the demand made at the end of this film - that Wiltshire County Council should not be allowed to give itself planning permission for this unpopular and destructive road. The Secretary of State 'called in' the planning application and ordered a public inquiry to be held. In August 2007 local, regional and national organisations came together to form the White Horse Alliance (Member groups are listed on www.corridor-alliance.co.uk). The Alliance is raising the funds for legal representation and expert witnesses to present a professional case against the road at the public inquiry. The more money we can raise the better the case we can present. The public inquiry will begin on 17 June 2008. It is expected to last six weeks.
