Oh, how murderous our love is! When blinded by passion’s tempest. We are most likely to destroy the one we call our heart’s dearest. Not long ago, proud of your win, you declared to all she was yours. And one year later what remained of her and all that was once hers? Where are the roses on her cheeks? Her smile, her brilliant gaze? Now scorched by her river of tears, her life’s turned barren through their haze. Do you remember your first time? First fateful meeting—tête–à–tête? Her eyes, words, bright childlike laughter seemed pure magic when you first met. And now, tell me, where’s all that now? How long have you let her dream last? Alas, like a northern summer, one blink—it was already past. Now fate’s cruel condemnation your love for her turned out to be. A patina of unjust shame fell darkly on her destiny. Her desolation, her ordeal became her lot because of you, The last of her sweet memories eventually betrayed her too. Her life turned into a wasteland as heartache her enchantment stole. A mob’s stampede crushed into mud all that once bloomed within her soul. At the end of her long torture, in ashes once its flames did cease. She gathered bitter, spiteful ¬pain: pain without tears, without release. Oh, how murderous our love is! When blinded by passion’s tempest. We are most likely to destroy the one we call our heart’s dearest.
