GE Alarm Sends SMS Texts via Raspberry Pi and Arduino

This shows the process of hacking a $30 GE home alarm control unit to send SMS texts when the alarm is tripped. I would like to switch the program from python to node.js since there is now a serial library for it. This would make many other interesting things possible. Many other sensing devices could be added to this Arduino to make it monitor other things like possibly the thermostat or home electrical consumption.
