Gia Gunn Transition Surgery | Dr. Leif Rogers | Mini Documentary

Once I was introduced to the possibility of transition from male to female, I then knew that this is who I was meant to be. After 4 years of hormone replacement therapy, the process of blocking testosterone and injecting estrogen on a consistent basis, I realized my breasts had stopped growing and unfortunately what I saw in the mirror was not the body that aligned with me mentally. After contemplating having surgery, the complications, down time it would require for me to recover etc. I finally overcame my fears and decided to ask my supporters and fellow LGBTQ+ community for help. I started a GoFundme campaign to raise $30,000 for breast augmentation surgery and fat transfer to my hips and buttocks to obtain a more feminine figure. After months of the campaign being live, I started to receive back lash from people including some of my own sisters within the trans community. Angry that somebody with my platform had the "audacity" to ask people whom were possibly less fortunate than me to help fund my surgery. But I knew I needed help and believe everyone in this lifetime deserves the opportunity to ask for help when needed. I needed this surgery in order to move forward with my transition and keep my gender dysmorphia to a minimum. The campaign had reached about 12k and the donations had reached it's full potential and I was fully ready to work harder and save more money in order to make up the difference. Until, I got a call from a very generous person named Jeremy Joseph who owns the biggest gay club in London called Heaven or G-A-Y! He offered to donate the money raised every week from each of the meet & greet sessions with my fellow RPDR alumni's and suggested that I book the surgery and that he would have me the proper funds in no time! I instantly felt so blessed and thankful for this very special blessing. I've always said that all it takes is one person to change your life, and this was my one person. After a year of going back and forth with board certified Dr. Leif Rogers and his team about doing these procedures, it was finally going to happen! I chose to document this process to educate people on what a healthy & safe transition can look like. No black market silicone or illegal injectables with a better longer lasting result! It's so important that we as trans people know there are professionals out there in our corner, let's utilize them!
