To correct a refueling problem with a 2007 Chevy Avalanche:
The starter would spin rapidly without the engine firing after refueling. After a minute or so it would start normally. The problem initially coded P0449, the vapor purge solenoid, a device that controls tank ventilation. Fuel/vapor was being pushed to the intake, causing a flooded condition. It's a $60 part and takes about 30 minutes or so to change with only a screwdriver. A week later, code P0496 popped up, saying that the vapor purge valve was bad. It's a $25 part. Both fixed the fueling problem.
