Grindr mugging: Arizona drug fiend used Grindr, Jack'D to rob strangers with a BB gun - TomoNews

CHANDLER, ARIZONA — Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for multiple counts of armed robbery and aggravated assault all committed with the help of two gay dating apps. Authorities say Jose Salvador Rodriguez used popular gay dating apps, Grindr and Jack'D, to contact his victims and arrange meetings with them. The teen used a BB gun which resembled a real gun to rob the victims of their cash and cellphones. After six app-related robberies, Rodriguez was finally apprehended on July 21 when he tried to hold up a convenience store. Rodriguez admitted to stealing in order to finance his drug addiction. He was jailed with $150,000 bail.
