Gua Kelam, which in local dialect means dark cave, is a 370m mining tunnel in Kaki Bukit, Perlis. It is part of the limestone cave system in northern Perlis. Gua Kelam was enlarged in 1935 by the British to transport tin ore. Enter Gua Kelam 2 would have to take a 15-minute ride in a noisy trolley train. Then continue their journey on foot along a 2km long concrete walkway for another hour, and exit at Gua Kelam 1. (At the time of my visit in Feb 2011, a noisy trolley train is out of services & a portion of concrete walkway linking to Gua Kelam 1 is still under construction).
