For someone who loves music having hi-fi systems as main hobby is perfect, but it is also keeping you busy trying to improve, enjoy you music, improve, enjoy your music even more, repeat again...
I moved from the AV completely, sold the Emotiva and went for a pure stereo configuration. Trying to keep the sound as clean as possible
Current configuration:
- Intel NUC i3 with Foobar2000 as media player, remote app MonkeyMoteHD on iPad
- HiFaceTWO coaxial interface
- Audiolab M-DAC, connected to the HiFaceTWO, bluray and a bluetooth toslink receiver
- Hand made passive pre-amplifier (or attenuator) Hattor audio, with 2 independent stepped potentiometers (64 steps each) with Takman REY resistors (you can find it at http://www.hattor.com)
- NAD319 amplifier, used in "NAD216THX" only amp configuration, upgraded by JS Audio Repairs (http://jsaudiorepairs.co.uk/)
- Focal 816VW with the composite sandwich cones (special edition)
- BK XLS200DF subwoofer
- Pre cables Atlas Equator Integra
- Speaker cable Sewell Silverback
The video has been recorded using
video: GoPro Hero 4 silver
audio: MacBook pro 13, Logic, Motu Ultralite, home made condenser microphones in stereo configuration
The song is "Agents - Vihreat niityt" from the instrumental album "...is beat!"
