HAVAL Dakar 2014

In 2010, "Haval Dakar Team" launched a challenge against the "Dakar Rally", the most rigorous and adventurous motor sports race in the world. Over the years, Haval has moved into the top 10 for three consecutive years from the 33rd place at first. As the only Chinese team, Haval has no longer been what it was in the earlier stage in the world famous devilish race. In the 2014 Dakar Rally, Haval's Sousa outperformed the strong favorites rivals like Peterhansel and Attiyah in Stage 1, claiming the first stage win in the Dakar Rally and making history for China’s teams. This year's competition was extremely rigorous, which saw an increase in the death toll and withdrawal of renowned competitors like Sainz and Sousa. Despite Sousa's unexpected withdrawal, Haval's newcomer Christian, in close cooperation with co-driver Jean Pierre, went ahead aboard Haval alone by steadily, and finished the rally 8th overall safe and sound, thus bringing Haval to the top 10 once again. This is no accident, but the result shown by Haval to the world after five years of striving--it has ranked among world top teams.
