5th June 2013 at 20.37 The education of the young peregrines continues when the parent brings in a live starling for them to despatch and consume, or at least that was the plan. Their inexperience in knowing what to do with live prey flummox them. They collectively 'handbag' the little bird but it puts up a good fight and eventually escapes to the corner, frightening the young peregrines into the bargain. After something of a standoff one of the eyasses finally lunges at it but the starling has had enough time to pull itself together and makes its escape. His mates will never believe his story. I can hear it now. 'There I was, surrounded by 4 big, burly peregrines.....' Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pull the other one! Never say 'die'.
