Trevvyj Stirling Senior Reviewer 8 reviews Reviews in 7 cities 8 helpful votes "Nice Pleasant Apartments - Recommended" Reviewed 4 August 2012 NEW Stayed for 2 weeks from 20th July 2012 with my wife and 2 Kids aged 9 & 14. I read many reviews on these apartments before going and was still pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Prior to going I phoned reception and requested a room in block A. The girl on reception spoke good English and had no problem granting my request. (Rooms in Block A have 2 small balconies - 1 in the Living area and 1 in the Bedroom. However, despite other reviews saying Block B wasn't nice - I could see no problems with it and speaking to others who were in B they said it was fine and clean. In future I will take either Block without a worry. The room was a very good size and very clean - The Air conditioning (£55 for 2 weeks) was in the bedroom only and was great - Kids didnt have a problem though on the comfy sofa beds in the Living room and leaving the Bedroom door open allowed the Air conditioning to cool their room slightly too, although it wasnt too bad anyway. Prior to going we purchased a cheap toaster and took it with us as none are supplied also remember to take a Tea Towel. Safety deposit box was £15 for 2 weeks. A very chilled out Hotel and no problems with rowdiness at all. Quite a lot of families there and kids all seemed to have a great time. The water slide comes on twice a day for 40 mins or so - The small pool at the bottom of the slide could be used by younger kids when slide is not on - its about 3 feet deep. The main pool is 5 feet deep and there is also a baby pool which is very shallow with a small slide going in to it for kids under 7. There is also a 5 foot deep pool at block B which was quite Quiet. The distance between the pools is only a 30 second walk. The Bar area was excellent and Breakfast & Lunch was reasonably priced. We never ate in at night as we always like to go out and about. There is a plasma TV in the Bar showing various events, Olympics, F1 etc. There is no wi-fi at the Hotel but just about every restaurant you go to has free access anyway. The Bar staff were all great and you could get drinks in plastic tumblers to take to the pool Its a 15 min walk to the beach passing shops and restaurants on the way. And a 5 minute walk to the main street of Armutalan with numerous Bars and restaurants and plenty to do. Turn left out of hotel and use the supermarket 100 mtrs along on the right - They are much cheaper than the one immediately opposite the hotel and offer a good exchange rate for your English Notes too. Restaurants to ensure you visit....Great Corner Steakhouse (We ate here the most nights - just a lovely meal and very relaxed all night), Cousins was fine too but mainly just had Lunch there. and for a more upbeat Fun night being fully entertained by the staff after your meal go to Chuckle Brothers our kids favourite - Superb. If going back to Marmaris I would have no hesitation in booking the Hibiscus Gardens - Highly recommended.
