This is possibly the only known copy of this film in existence. It has not been seen in over 100 years! I ran the film thru a vintage 1908 35mm hand-crank movie projector. I also played piano music in the background to get the effect. The flick that you see from the projector is what movie viewers would see back in the day. Hence the term "flicks" was created in referring to movies. The film was dry and brittle and presented a few problems while filming. It broke a couple of times and I had some focus issues. Sorry about these flaws. Thanks go to Mr. Joseph Eckhardt for the following on this film: "His Mistake was made in 1912 and starred Ormi Hawley (as the girl who works in the boarding house and who rescues the little girl). Charles Arthur is her erstwhile beau who marries the actress. Jack Halliday is supposed to be in the film, but I couldn't see him. The young man gets off the train with the "actress" and then gets back on himself is Harry Myers. I can't see the faces well enough to determine who the others are. I would likely recognize the "actress" if I could see her clearly. The minister who performs the marriage might be Arthur Johnson, but that is a guess at this point.....I am producing a documentary based on my book on Siegmund Lubin (The King of the Movies: Film Pioneer, Siegmund Lubin) http://www.jewishfilm.org/fiscal_sponsorship_lubin.htm" I could not upload the complete movie, so it is presented here in 2 parts. I hope you all enjoy it!
