Hondo II Ric 4001 Copy vs. Rickenbacker 4003

Can a Japanese Ric copy be as good as the real thing? Short answer: yes and no. Ultimately, it depends on the player and budget. In this video I'm featuring my 1977 Hondo II Bass, based on the Rickenbacker 4001 and Andrew Amado's 1999 Rickenbacker 4003. Spoiler alert: the Rickenbacker wins, but the Hondo has a good sound for what it is. Also, my trusty Fender/Squier P-Bass makes a cameo towards the end along with a couple of fun pedals... a Russian Big Muff, a Cog Effects Mini 66 and an Earthquaker Devices Data Corrupter.
