I've been asked for this a bunch of times and I'm finally sharing how I make my hair oil! As always, I have a bit of an intro so just skip to 1:18 if you want to get right to it. Please note that I use a hellah lot of ingredients, like it's a bit nuts. I hadn't even realized how many I use until I made this video. I've accumulated many of these over time and just started adding more and more to my mixture as time went on. That said, you can omit whatever you like to tailor it to your needs. Why did I choose these oils? Check it out below, I'm including the brand next to each description as well:
Rose Mountain Organic, Unrefined Shea Butter: A standard sealant, acts as a natural sun protectant, softens, and the best thing for moisturizing hair. My hair is addicted to it, so I use a lot in my mixes.
Dr. Bronner's Organic, Unrefined Coconut Oil: Noted as the only oil proven to penetrate the hair shaft for optimal conditioning and hydration.
Dessert Essence Organic Jojoba Oil: A natural hypoallergenic that helps to soften the hair and is similar to sebum (natural oil produced on the scalp), so it's the best thing to use if you don't want to affect your scalp's PH balance.
AuraCacia Sweet Almond Oil: Good for the follicles, helpful for hair loss prevention and is great for strengthening strands.
Epicurean Organics Macadamia Nut Oil: Light-weight and easily absorbed, this oil protects the hair and scalp from damage.
Epicurean Organics Avocado Oil: Effective for dry brittle hair with natural humectant properties which aids in locking in moisture. Great for restoring scalp health.
Virgin Olive Oil (not picky about the brand, but prefer organic): Used for centuries on hair, this oil is great for helping with growth as it's high in antioxidants and fights dandruff (as well as funghi and bacteria) that can contribute to hair loss.
Jamaican, Black Castor Oil (Lavender or Coconut): High in fatty acids, it's known in aiding the healing of scalp ailments and is believed to aid in fighting hair loss. For me, it's great for softening.
Country Life Natural Liquid E-Complex, Vitamin E: Fights free radicals found from sun exposure.
AuraCacia, Ylang Ylang Essential Oil: Stimulates hair growth and is a great conditioner.
Mountain Rose, Patchouli essential Oil: Aromatherapeutic, astringent and fungicide which is great for calming the nervous system, assists in scalp health, fights depression, and adds an earthy scent to hair.
