So, this past Saturday, Garrett came bounding into my office interrupting my very unproductive Pinterest grazing and exclaimed "Babe! We need t-shirts!". As we were both wearing t-shirts, I had to probe a little further and learned we needed logo t-shirts! It was a rainy Saturday anyway, so let's embark on a t-shirt adventure! While I have some fancy cutting equipment to make vinyl heat transfers (which I can't wait to use in a future adventure), I don't have anything to add a full color logo. We found these Avery 3302 Stretchable Fabric Transfers on Amazon. From here, it really was super easy! 1. Go to avery.com/print 2. Customize your design, using their free templates and design tools. We had our logo, so we just did a quick image upload. 3. The tool created a .pdf of our image, centered and aligned. All we had to do is click print! 4. We used our inkjet printer and did a test print of the image on plain paper first and then we were ready to print on transfer paper! 5. Last step, iron on! Our lesson learned....... lol, trim the image first! We started with Garrett's t-shirt and I just ironed the whole transfer page onto the shirt. MISTAKE! It looked like one of those cheesy t-shirts I had as kid in the 80's where the image was cracking and peeling off! Not pretty! I kinda feel bad, because I trimmed mine and mine looks great! :) Here's a few good reasons for making logo t-shirts: Walking Advertisements - I recently read a story, at a conference that had roughly two thousand attendees, four team members each wore a shirt with a huge corporate logo on the back. They really stood out, so much so, in fact, that many people thought there were at least twenty of them walking around because they saw the logos so often amid the masses of suit jackets. Conversation Starters - When people think of branded clothing, they sometimes think of boring corporate polos. But that doesn’t have to be the case. We tried to be creative using the baseball tees this time, most importantly, we want to create a conversation. We want people to ask us about our company! Working Overtime - You can even put your clothing to work while you’re not wearing it. We try to place our branded hoodies or jackets on the outside of chairs so it will be seen while I'm sitting down. The point is simple, it's a marketing opportunity! Every opportunity is a marketing opportunity if you’re paying attention and thinking outside the box. And some of the best marketing opportunities are cheap, easy, and fun.
