And today we're looking at vowel sounds. OK? So, I have three vowel sounds here. Let's take a look at the first one. This sound is pronounced "ʌ" as in "but." This one is pronounced "æ" as in "cat." And this one is pronounced "α" as in "wash." OK. Now, please look at my mouth as I pronounce these three. I will repeat two times each and please see the difference in my mouth. OK? OK. Let's try. First one. "ʌ, ʌ." OK. "æ, æ." "α, α." OK? OK. Let's go back to this sound "ʌ" and look at some words with the sound "ʌ". OK. "love, some, son, fun." OK? Now you try. OK. Now let's look at the sound "æ." "fat, Dad, sad, bad."OK? Now you try. And the sound "α." "pot, slot, got, stop." OK? So, different sound and different length. This one is very short, "ʌ." This one is longer "æ." And this one is a little bit longer than this one but not as long as this one. "α." "ʌ", "æ", "α." Can you hear the difference? OK. Let's look at a sentence with the sounds "ʌ." "It's fun to love your son some. It's fun to love your son some." Now you try. OK. Now the sound "æ." "I have a bad, sad, fat, Dad. I have a bad, sad, fat, Dad." OK. Now you try. OK. And, "α." "Stop the pot that got stuck in the slot. Stop the pot that got stuck in the slot." Now you try. OK. Very good. OK. So, let's review real quickly. "ʌ, æ, α." OK? Great. This concludes today's lesson. Thank you very much for watching. I'm Robbie.
