This is undoubtedly one of my favorite songs from Hisaishi and films from Miyazaki. A lot of you guys requested this song from me in the past...so I'm super duper excited that I got the chance to actually redo it (I only played a snippet of it for the beginning of my Ghibli medley a LONG time ago..) This theme really stuck with me ever since I first watched this film in 2004.I was SO obsessed with the movie...that year, I begged my mom to get me the soundtrack CD, and she got it for my birthday, haha! I also have the DVD set and my boyfriend gave me the art book this year for my birthday ;w;. Best movie ever! So packed with emotion and action. The waltz-feel is so crazily addictive, and Hisaishi really showed his mastery for making beautiful soundtracks to incorporate an equally beautiful film. I really loved how the film integrated reprises and different scenes that had the same melody, too! Also, in this video, I'm working with a new pianist, who I was actually referred to by a friend of mine. His name is Kevin, also known as "KevinsKeys," and he's just starting up YouTube!
