Overall, long ammo is the best so any gun using it is going to hit hard at any range and have nice velocity. Shotguns are really good because alot of fights in Hunt are close range, but you need the Uppercut or Pax to take range fights. The Dolch and Winny are solid options for close to medium range if you like to spam shots.
