India vs Germany Women's Hockey World League Rotterdam Pool B [16/6/13]

Germany remained unbeaten in the Women's World Hockey League after a commanding 7-1 victory over India on day four to qualify for the quarter-finals. The first goal came after fourteen minutes. A Bachmann shot from a penalty corner forced Sarita to parry but the rebound fell to Muller-Wieland who finished from a tight angle. It was 2-0 after twenty two minutes. Captain Julia Mullers' reverse stick cross not cleared and Stockel was on hand to turn in the rebound. The lead was extended to three with the last action of the first half. Teschke and Hillmann combined well and Marie Mavers with the finish. Germany in total control. A glimmer of hope for India at the start of the second half as they pulled one goal back. Manjit Kaurs' drag flick from a penalty corner took a deflection off Vandana Katariya on the way in. Germany responded instantly. Stockel with her second, an angled shot from the edge of the D snuck into the corner to make it 4-1. German dominance continued. Jennifer Plass got her name on the scoresheet after persistent pressure on the Indian goal from a penalty corner. Not all power play from Germany, a lovely fluid move set up Lydia Haase to score. Lena Andersch supplied Teschke on the right after a pin point pass from Julia Muller. Teschke found Haase in the D to round off a great team move and an unassailable 6-1 lead.
