INDIGO SEEDS LOOK Chowberia Dinabandhu Vidyalaya HS is named after the great Dinabandhu Mitra, who wrote Neel Darpan. The school was established in 1949 as a Junior school, two years after the Independence of India. And it is situated beside the Gopalnagar-Nimtala Bazar link road, which is called Dinabandhu Sarani. In 1983 it was upgraded as a Madhyamik School and thereafter in 1999 it was further upgraded as a Higher Secondary school. The U-shaped three storied building has as many as 36 rooms. It has another building for the Vocational Education. The School has an Eco-Garden, Which is maintained by the Eco-Club of the school. The costs of gardening is bore by Govt. of West Bengal. The students are the main workers of the eco-garden. Some there are separate Mari-Gold garden, Rose garden, Calendula Garden. A variety of Dianthus, Dahlia garden, Petunia, hibiscus, cactuses are there. Some Neel Plants are there to memorize the great Neel Agitation in 1860.
