Have you ever felt that from the outside you look, and perhaps feel successful, but from the inside it feels empty? How much time do we spend on outer success and how much do we invest inwards? Neuroscientist Stephanie Bianchi and Life Coach Heidi Kusters are mindfulness facilitators and co-founders of Mindful Guatemala Foundation. Stephanie and Heidi present the case that the path to finding true happiness and success begins by looking inwards and finding inner peace within ourselves. How can we be in the present moment with all our daily thoughts and emotions? Learn more about how mindfulness can help us cultivate inner peace and lead us to longstanding happiness and well-being. Heidi Kusters is a social worker and certified mindfulness trainer. She started her own meditation practice in 2014. As meditation had such a positive impact on her own mental health, well being and happiness, she felt inspired to share this with others. She has been guiding numerous people, since 2012, as a professional life coach, mindfulness trainer and yoga teacher. Guiding people always has been a line through her life, first in social work then in tourism and later through yoga & mindfulness. As Co-founder and Mindfulness facilitator of Mindful Guatemala she keeps getting people into movement, into connection with themselves, inner peace, the present moment and their surroundings. Stephanie is a Neuroscientist and certified Mindfulness and Meditation Trainer. Her background in molecular biology, neuroscience and her passion to understand how the mind works, has led her to dwell deeply into the Mindfulness and Meditation practice, gaining a deeper insight of the brain-mind relationship and its implications on mental health. After studying and working the last 10 years in 5 different countries, Stephanie is currently back in her home country, where she co-founded Mindful Guatemala Foundation. Mindful Guatemala Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to promote and educate kids and teenagers in public schools on the importance of mental health care, mindfulness and emotional intelligence. Their mission is to inspire the next generation to live a more harmonious, peaceful and compassionate life to themselves and to each other. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
