Interviewing Friends From My Memoir: Eric-the-Sadist

This year, as my agent continues putting together our submission package for editors, and we move hopefully towards my BDSM memoir getting a book deal, I wanted to start interviewing key players and collaborators from my career as a BDSM model and who feature in my book. I started with Eric, since we live a long distance apart, and opportunities to talk to him face to face are rare. I was immensely excited about this chance to ask him questions on camera; he's one of my favourite people in this industry, and I want the whole world to know about him. This is not an ambition that he shares, as you might possibly sense when you watch the video. Hmm; I'm not an especially experienced interviewer, so when I sensed his reluctance to talk, I just talked more in order to help him. And more, and more, and more. As you'll see. In the BDSM world, I find the contrast between people's onscreen/in-scene personas and their real-life selves endlessly fascinating. When I was writing my book, it felt important to me that I should represent the people I work with, especially those who shoot more extreme, sadistic work, as the kind, collegiate and decent people that they are. And that's what I tried to do here. I feel immensely privileged to have friends like Eric; I repaid him by making him do this. Like a sadist, really.
