“Islamistan” is the title of a book by Claude Guibal, French reporter, who will be the special guest of the meeting. The book tells the story of Islamic radicalism, its sources and faces in many countries of the world. It also relates to what threats radicalism poses to Europe. The increase of Islamic States’ relevance, terrorist attacks and the influx of refugees caused dread in Europe and hostility among many (towards migrants, especially Muslims). The book also tackles the essential question on the future of the multicultural societies. Are our free and open societies becoming defenceless against new threats and challenges, including the Islamic fundamentalism? To what degree, can European societies withstand cultural diversity, preserving their integrity and solidarity? Are immigrants a threat to their identities? Where does the radicalisation of some parts of the immigrant communities in Europe comes from? How does the chaos in the Middle East affects the attitudes and securities in countries of the EU? Prelegents: Claude Guibal Dr hab. Agata Skowron-Nalborczyk Ludwika Włodek, Ph.D. Ali Yildiz
