Jayo Munindassa Subhodi Mule Gathawa

This Gathawa was recited by King Dutu Gemunu (Maharaja Gemunu) before he left for war against the invader from Southern India Elara who ruled Rajarata for a long time in Sri Lanka. King Dutu Gemunu wanted to make Sri Lanka a united country once more and protect Buddhism. In the end he won the war and built many Dagabas including the great Ruwanweliseya where Lord Buddhas one eighth Dhaathu are placed.
